When I entered the WhareNui everyone was pushing and bumping into each other. I felt a chill of excitement as I went in because I haven't been to a Marae before. We had to be very respectful because we were in a Tapu. There was a man named Matua Jim. He kind of looked funny but I didn’t want to be disrespectful.
When I heard that room 5 was going with Matua Jim I was excited because he said we were going to learn a Maori song and I love to learn new things. After a while he said he was going to do a Waita, we didn't know what that meant but just sang it anyway. When he sang it sounded like a funny yodelling song.
